Fundamental Skills Required for Soccer Training
Written by admin on July 28, 2009 – 11:49 pm -As with any type of training for a game in sports, soccer training requires some fundamental skills. These skills can be cultivated many different ways. One of the most popular methods is through observing the skill that you wish to acquire. Once you understand the basic concept of the skill, you should put your knowledge to work by trying it yourself. Generally, the skill must be practiced repeatedly in order to be mastered. Many people use the concept of visualization in order to perfect a particular soccer skill. Here, you will learn about the many fundamental skills required for soccer training.
The most important thing to understand when it comes to soccer training is that a player is successful when they become accustomed to a certain motion that they perform. As the soccer player continues to practice the skill in which they are trying to acquire, they quickly gain confidence in their abilities. This is the second most important concept to master when attempting to acquire soccer skills…confidence. If you are confident in your ability to perform the skill, and continue to practice during soccer training, you will master the skill quickly.
In soccer training, it is essential to acquire the skill of kicking. There are two basic types of kicks that are used in the game of soccer. One is referred to as the “ground kick”, and the other is called the “volleys kick”. These particular kicks in the soccer game are established by how the ball is positioned on the ground. When you focus on the skill of kicking, it is important that you also practice balance and the stance of your body. This is the secret behind successful kicks in soccer training.

Senior Golf Championships Recognized
Written by admin on July 27, 2009 – 11:47 pm -There are now five major senior golf championships played including the Senior PGA, U.S. Senior Open, Senior British Open, The Tradition and the Senior Players Championship. The oldest of the five being the PGA Senior Championship, which started in 1937 followed by the U.S Senior Open, The Tradition and the Senior players in the 1980’s. The Senior British received recognition in 2003. Senior golf amateurs and pros from all over the world compete in these events to see who will come out on top, win the championship, and take home the winnings.
The women or the LPGA recognizes four annual championships, which are Kraft Nabisco, McDonald’s U.S. LPGA presented by Coco-Cola, U.S. Women’s Open and the Ricoh Women’s British Open. In 1969, the first player from outside the United States was introduced to the tour card. Her name was Vivien Saunders from the United Kingdom. Today, there are currently participants from twenty-six different countries playing the LPGA. The Women’s Senior Golf Tour was established in 2003, which then became known as the Legends Tour. Women who are forty-five years or older play the LPGA Legend Tour. This well-publicized event draws attention from the media everywhere.
Senior golf is not just for men, many women compete professionally just as well as the men do. Whether you are an amateur or a professional, golf does not have a gender set as to who can golf and who cannot. Many women have come to prove that they can complete and ensure the even the toughest golf courses just like the men. Some of the top leaders in the LPGA have won some pretty impressive purses and have gone on to become professional senior golf players who also offer lessons to beginners and those wanting to improve their game. In 2006, Lorena Ochoa from Canada won the player of the year and Vare trophy while Seon Hwa Lee of Korea won the Rookie of the Year.

The Sport Of Bungy Jumping
Written by admin on July 24, 2009 – 11:46 pm -Three decades before bungy jumping began to come into the public eye as a new sport, the well-known broadcaster Sir David Attenborough encountered people on the Pentecost Island who demonstrated their courage by tying vines around their ankles and diving from tall platforms. Shortly after, Chris Baker of England devised an elastic rope for attempting a similar feat. In 1979, members of the Oxford England’s Dangerous Sports Club jumped from the 250-foot Clifton Suspension Bridge, marking the first attempts at bungy jumping as it is known today. Bungy jumping was slowly but surely gaining the public’s interest as a potential sport.
In 1986, A. J. Hackett of New Zealand did his own first jump. To promote widespread interest, he bungy jumped from numerous structures, including the Eiffel Tower in France, going on to start up one of the world’s largest bungy jumping companies. The A. J. Hackett Bungy company has expanded to locations in Macau, Mexico, Indonesia, Germany, the United States, Australia, and France, in addition to his original New Zealand location.
Not only was A. J. Hackett successful in spreading the word about bungy jumping, in creating his company he began to make this new sport much more widely accessible to those who wished to try it. While the Macau location boasts the highest commercial bungy jumping in the world, all of the other branches provide a nearly-equal degree of excitement for all who elect to participate in this sport.
The basic bungy jumping equipment consists of latex strands which are made into shock cords. Some companies and customers prefer to use plain ankle attachments, but in the interest of the jumpers’ safety body harnesses are often used also. Although sites vary in their means of retrieval, the most common method is with the use of a mobile crane which can quickly and accurately lower the jumper to the ground. The variations of retrieval methods generally depend on the types of jumping platforms that are used.

Naked Bungee Jumping
Written by admin on July 22, 2009 – 11:45 pm -There’s a new trend in bungee jumping, but I wouldn’t exactly say that it’s taking the world by storm. So what is this new angle on the ancient sport of bungee jumping? How about naked bungee jumping. OK, so I know you think I’m crazy, but there hundreds, perhaps thousands out there who will swear by this experience. Let’s take a few minutes to look at the possible attraction, as well as the detractors, of this bizarre variation on the sport.
First, it is interesting to note that the natives who have performed the ritual that has become bungee jumping for thousands of years wear very little clothing. I’ll admit, it must be a bit different jumping from a make-shift wooden tower using a jungle vine attached to your ankles. This is a far cry from modern bungee jumping. However, these native young men wore nothing more than a flimsy loin cloth on their plunge to please mother earth. So in some primitive, instinctual way, there must be a spiritual attraction of sorts in performing naked bungee jumping. Some people who choose to participate in this variation of the sport have admitted to being extreme naturalists, even nudists. Of course, there are those who complete nude bungee jumping who wouldn’t qualify as nature lovers at all.

From Serving to the Hit
Written by admin on July 17, 2009 – 11:43 pm -Being ready for the tennis balls that are likely to come your way will help you to make the best hit possible. By getting the ball out of your court, you will have the ability to continue working towards the win. As a coach or a player, you will want to make sure that you know what the options are so you can learn to use them in the right place. There are eight basic shots that you can take in order to keep the ball going. When combining this with the ways to maneuver your body, you will have the ability to play each game better than the last. Following are general guidelines to keep in mind when preparing or coaching for the game.
Before even beginning the game of tennis, you want to make sure that you have the right stance. This will mean being prepared for the ball to come your way. Most tennis players will have their feet hip width apart with a bend in the knees. The focus will need to be on the ball and where it is about to go. By doing this, you will have the ability to get to the right place quicker. You will also want to have both of your hands on the grip of the tennis racquet, which will help you to control the ball more, as well as switch sides for the racquet.
After you have this stance, there will be the beginning of the game by service. A serve will begin on one side from the back of the court. After the ball is thrown into the air, the server will be able to hit the ball. They can control the way that the ball begins to be thrown by simply hitting it in a different way. This may make the ball spin, go to a different length, and move to a different area of the court.

Types of Parachutes
Written by admin on July 3, 2009 – 11:39 pm -In its basic sense, a parachute is neither made for travel and sports, it was created to increase safety while descending from a certain altitude. It is a medium to delay the pull of gravity from earth when deployed form higher altitude.
In short, it makes the dropping of an item, a person or equipment vertically or diagonally slower by reducing the amount of dragging force while maintaining a balance so that the item would remain safe until it reaches the ground. Early physicists have made use of this principle and newer develops in parachuting technology led to the creation of various types of parachutes.
Early types of parachutes
Parasol type- Though not strictly called parachutes, the parasols were commonly used by performers in China to create a slow falling effect onstage.
Conical parachute – Possibly the earliest form of parachute is the conical shaped-parachute which appeared during 1470s in Italy preceding the design conceptualized by Leonardo da Vinci. As an escape device, this type of parachute was intended to allow people to get safely on the ground from burning buildings. However, there are no written records whether this parachute was ever used for that purpose.
Pyramid Parachute – Another design by Leonardo da Vinci, this parachute was conceptualized in Milan during the early part of 1480. It was a canopy that is supported by light wood held by a square bottom frame.
Pack-style parachute – This is the predecessor of all parachutes that are stored in casings these days.
Round parachutes – A basic drag device, round parachute is used in various settings like medical missions, cargo applications and military operations. While being described commonly as round in shape, the parachute actually resembles a dome or a jellyfish. This has been among the most popular type however; present-day parachutists don’t normally use this kind of parachute.
