Creating a life by your own design is a journey. A journey that starts with ignorance, transitions to awareness and culminates in enlightenment.

The Fight To The Conference Championship Amongst NBA Eastern Conference Teams

Written by Evan Chu on March 15, 2010 – 12:15 pm -

The basketball season this year has been quite thrilling to watch as there is never a dull moment and that tends to make you always want to keep tabs on every team. There are so many first-time teams that have emerged, while, to the contrary, many teams that are usually at the top have become vulnerable, which ultimately means that the postseason is not set in stone and no one can predict just who is going to be at the top.

You just never know what could happen over the course of the playoffs, even though the Lakers are favored to come out on top in the Western Conference. Right now, the action in the Eastern Conference is pretty great to watch.

Are you wondering just what Eastern teams are going to go all the way to the NBA finals? Let’s talk about the three teams that have the best chance of doing this.

First, there are the Orlando Magic. You may be wondering why they’re mentioned first here, because they don’t have the best record in the Eastern Conference by any means, as they’ve won seven less games than Cleveland has. However, they have the second best record in the East and they did make the NBA finals last season.

Here Are The Most Talented Baseball Pitchers Going Into This Year

Written by Philip Ravine on March 15, 2010 – 11:49 am -

It has been more than two months since the World Series finished up and, of course, that means there is nothing going on with that sport right now since the next season will not start for a couple of months.

As a result, I like to pass the time by taking a few moments to reflect on the current state of the game. I’ve written many articles of the sort, and today I’d like to pay homage to five of the best pitchers in professional baseball today.

Here are my top five as I see them. Feel free to agree or disagree, and I’d love to see you share your thoughts if you have a different opinion.

Taking the #5 spot on my list is Zack Greinke, the pitcher who achieved the status of having the greatest baseball season this past year. Yes, he will need to continue that for the next season or two in order to move up on this list, but, overall, Greinke is quite a dangerous pitcher with an awesome future ahead of him in this sport.

At #4 we have Roy Halladay, who is a consistently reliable baseball pitcher. It is obvious that Halladay will someday be in the Hall of Fame.

Refilling and Cleaning a Zippo

Written by Brian Mallikarjunan on March 15, 2010 – 10:07 am -

Some individuals maintain that liquid-fueled lighters impart an unpleasant taste to any tobacco product with which they come into contact. This is entirely a matter of opinion but, to remedy the situation, there are several different grades of lighter fluid on the market that advertise themselves as being free of any unpleasant flavor. For those who aren’t ready to move to a high-end butane lighter, such as a Nibo, these fluids can help mitigate any risk of ruining a good cigar or pipe.

The insert within the lighter’s case contains cotton covered by felt. Though there is a hole in this felt, the lighter is best filled by pulling it back to expose the cotton. This helps prevent over-saturating the cotton with fluid. Hold the lighter upside down, preferably over a sink and definitely not over a finished surface which may be damaged by the fluid. In most cases, some fluid will drip down the wick during refueling so expect there to be a bit of a mess.

Uncovering The Process Of Shopping For Certified Pre-owned Golf Clubs

Written by Frank Froggatt on March 15, 2010 – 7:55 am -

Many people these days are making the choice of buying used golf golf clubs rather than new ones because of the price they want for them. The cost is the main reason people give for purchasing used golf golf clubs. Another plus is that it keeps that used set out of the landfills. So when looking at used golf clubs, what should we know?

The face of the clubs head need to be the first thing that you look at to make sure that there is not much wear. Many times clubs that have been well loved and used over time will develop a shiny worn spot in the center of the face. If you find a set of golf clubs with this problem you need to keep looking as it will not hold the ball like you need it to. The groves in the face of the club all need to have good definition and not have any dents what soever as these will make a difference in the flight of your ball.

The Essential Things To Know About Rubber Horse Mats

Written by Adriana Noton on March 15, 2010 – 5:56 am -

Horses are remarkable animals and can be great friends. If you own any, then you would be aware that horses spend the most part of their time standing on their feet. Well if what is underneath your horse’s feet is concrete, it can eventually put too much pressure on them, causing pain in your horse’s legs and joints. Putting a rubber horse mat in its stall can help relieve most of the pain and the stress, therefore facilitate relaxation.

One of the main advantages of using one of those mats is to preserve the heat. Concrete floors do not hold the heat very well. Putting a mat over the stall’s concrete floor will help your horse stay warm and healthy. The materials use for those mats are naturally insulating. Wet concrete can also be very slippery, making it dangerous for your horse to slip and injure itself. Mats help provide some traction and avoid these incidents.

Cleaning always being a chore, stable rubber mats can make it easier for you. If your horse’s stall needs to be sterilized, you will have less trouble to do so on a mat than you would on concrete or wood. You will need significantly less bedding, for the mat will be doing the usual hay bedding’s job (like comfortable surface, heat, shock absorption and traction). Consequently you will find yourself saving money and time.

A Brief Look At Snowboarding

Written by Adriana Noton on March 15, 2010 – 5:39 am -

Visitors to the Winter Olympics in Nagano Japan in 1998 were witnesses to the debut of snowboarding as an Olympic sport, it having been approved as such in 1994 by the International Olympic Committee. It is not surprising that it reached the world’s largest sports stage. Since the mid 1960s, an ever increasing number of snowboarders have taken to ski slopes around the world. Its popularity as a winter sport is perhaps best understood if you consider that in the mid 1980s snowboarding was allowed on less than ten percent of the ski areas in the United States; today it is permitted on over ninety-five percent.

Not far removed from the design of a skateboard or surfboard, the snowboard is designed to dash down a snow covered slope. Unlike skiing, this sport entails using a piece of equipment that looks like a short wide ski. Snowboarders’ boots are mounted in flexible bindings that are slightly perpendicular to the board, rather than facing forward as in a pair of skis.
