You Must Know the Maldives has the Snorkeling in the World?
Written by Rudy Damascus on March 13, 2010 – 12:11 pm -The Maldives is an small island nation consisting of over a 1,100 tiny coral islands strewn across the Indian Ocean. It’s a snorkeling and scuba diving heaven and one that’s popular all year round primarily due to its temperate climate. The Maldives averages thirty degrees Celsius all year long or 86 degrees F.
Simply put, the Maldives provide an ideal snorkeling and scuba diving location teeming with exotic schools of fish of many species. Just to name a few, there are black and white snappers, humpback snappers, barracuda, unicornfish, yellowback fusiliers, trevally jacks.
Maldives snorkeling and diving is unparalleled the world over. The sheer number and types of fish found here is awe inspiring. Divers and snorkelers will never experience a boring moment, nor will they ever experience the exact dive experience twice! There are too many species of aquatic life to discover on any single dive; one really needs to go several times to get an appreciation of the awe inspiring life residing in these waters.
Seasoned snorkelers and scuba divers suggest traveling to the Maldives when water visibility is at its peak; between January and March. Other times of the year, water visibility can be murky. Dive novices charter boats in Male, the capital city. However, experienced divers preferring remote locations can charter boats to take them to the outer reaches where its less inhabited.

Beginners Guide To Scuba Diving Gear
Written by Brett Camron on January 20, 2010 – 9:40 am -If you are new to scuba diving you will need to know a little bit about the gear that you will need to make a successful dive. There are many essential types of scuba diving gear that you will have to have and I will go over all of these with you very briefly.
Let me start off with the scuba mask, they come in many different styles but they all serve the same purpose. Do not sell yourself short when purchasing a scuba mask, especially if you plan on doing some deep dives, your eyes wont take kind to the water pressure if the mask happens to crack or break.
Next piece of gear that you must have is a BC, to divers known as a buoyancy compensator. A BC provides many essentials when it comes to diving and there are many types. They help the diver go the direction he or she wants to go, meaning up, down, or neutral. Bouyancy compensators also interact with the dive gauges and regulators.

How Scuba Diving/ Snorkeling Are Basically Done?
Written by Allyn Cutts on December 29, 2009 – 1:52 pm -Some of the basic requirements for both Scuba diving / snorkeling don’t vary greatly, except that scuba diving is done going deep into the water and snorkeling is done on the surface of the water.
To be able to scuba dive and snorkel you need to know how to swim. It is recommended that you do the BSA swimming test.
The test consists of jumping feet first into water above your head, leveling off, and swimming strongly for 75 yards. Breast stroke, trudgen, side stroke or crawl can be used. Turn and for 25 yards do an easy backstroke. 100 yards must be completed in one swim. There should be no stopping! Resting is done by floating on the surface of the water.
A buddy system is used for both scuba diving / snorkeling.
Scuba Diving:
Assess your dive plans, check gears , and review your comprehension of diving signals.
Working in water can be dangerous if you are not fit thus a diver needs to be fit and healthy. Have a physical examination with your doctor before any tiring exercise such as water activities.

Snorkeling as Part of Scuba Dive: How Is It Done?
Written by Allyn Cutts on December 23, 2009 – 8:10 am -For thousands of years, what lies beneath the surface of the world’s oceans and seas has been a fascination to mankind . Seventy five percent of the Earth’s surface is covered by water, and the landscapes beneath those waters are as abounding with life and varied as any on dry land. A scuba dive is the way to set eyes on it.
The large bodies of water and the marine life in it are still vastly unexplored and remain a big mystery to mankind. While we are discovering what lies beyond our planet in the stars, we still have to discover everything that’s underneath the waters of our own world.
Out of a desire to explore the waters and mysteries they hold, scuba diving originated. The first thing we know about scuba divers is they don’t go very deep below the water. The ocean is stuffed with so much life it’s not necessary to travel very deep in order to witness the marvelousness of it.
The majority of marine being can be found within the first two hundred meters of water below sea level. Most of these amazing creatures gather within the upper forty meters of water, making it easy for scuba divers to explore and discover them.
