Buying a Winter Pea Coat
Written by Kirk Kendricson on February 25, 2010 – 8:01 pm -A pea coat is a superb way to stay warm during those cold months of the year. Designers have taken this sailor look and redesigned it in a way suitable for anyone to wear. The original coat came only in navy blue, but now you can find it in a rainbow of colors. Brighter colors like yellow or red are now available as well for a more exciting looking style. These colors capture they eye of onlookers and truly make a statement.
The color is not all that has changed when it comes to winter pea coats. The buttons and sleeve styles of these coats have also evolved over the years. Instead of the simple matching buttons, designers have now put on toggles or large shinier buttons to make the coats look much more stylish and fashionable.
You can also find different sleeve styles that come with these coats. There are coats with detailing on the sleeves and styles with wider kimono sleeves. All of these design updates make the pea coat more modern and great for winter wear. One factor to consider when buying a pea coat is the fabrication you want. Most often pea coats are made of wool or a wool blend material. If you need a warm coat, go for a 100% wool version because, although wool and cotton blends are lighter in weight, they are not as warm. A more expensive option is a coat made from cashmere; these coats are luxurious, very warm, and weigh less than wool coats.

Custom Cycling Socks 101
Written by Joe Pied on February 8, 2010 – 5:54 pm -Cycling socks? What are those? If you cycle a lot, whether or not you’re in exercising for that sport or not, you need a specialized kind of sock so that the moisture your feet generate will not be absorbed by your skin and therefore causes it to be a lot more susceptible to skin irritations and blisters. In addition, sportsman’s foot and other fungal and bacterial infections might be considerably more frequent in feet that are often wet.
Biking socks use special yarns that wick humidity away from the skin; the moisture is moved to an outside layer so that the skin continues to breathe and the feet stay dry, which facilitates keeping them free of blisters and less prone to microbial and fungal infections.
Biking socks are also special due to the fact they don’t require breathable sneakers to evaporate sweat. Rather, their own specific combination of wicking and “water loving” yarns absorb moisture and lock it away from the skin. On top of that, should you be cycling in cold weather, you need yarns that are going to insulate and keep your feet warm, too. So these insulating fibers employed for the cycling socks also trap warmth and air even as they wick away humidity and enable skin to breathe.

The Story Of Shorts
Written by Alexander Stone on February 5, 2010 – 12:22 pm -Shorts as we know are a one piece garment used to cover part of the legs and the pelvic area. It is held up either by tying a string or elastic. The length can vary according to the need. Shorts can be worn as an outer or inner garment. The name shorts were given because it is a shorter version of long pants.
In the U.K the term short trousers are used to describe trousers that have been shortened. In American English the term short pants is an equivalent to short trousers. In Australia they can be known as “stubbies”. In England the word shorts means, sport shorts, or casual shorts. If you really go into terminology, then it can get even more confusing, shorts can also refer to under wear in some countries, boxer shorts can mean the same thing.
There was a time when shorts were worn strictly by boy’s up to a certain age group. When they reached a certain age and height they started to wear longer pants or trousers. Women did not wear shorts. If men wore shorts then it was seen as being immature.
Before they were called shorts in America they were called knee pants.

Choosing The Right Golf Umbrellas
Written by Johnny Hamm on January 28, 2010 – 2:23 pm -No golfers list of accessories is complete without the golf umbrella. These oversized umbrellas are made to protect the golfer and their golf bags alike. A great way to protect your expensive clubs as you scurry to the clubhouse during that rainstorm. These are the perfect gifts for any golf lover.
Golf umbrellas are oversized to fit you and your bag. They measure around sixty inches in diameter. There are smaller compact golf umbrellas, which are between thirty, and forty-eight inches in diameter. The umbrella will help to keep the golfer and clubs protected through its large doom design. There are golf umbrellas that have vents which help when it is windy. A double canopy style has a small vented canopy above the larger doom to withstand wind gusts as well as allow air to circulate.
Golf umbrellas can be purchased in the arc or slight arc style. The more of the arc, the more it will diffuse the rain away from you and your golf bag. The significant feature of the golf umbrella is that the grip, or handle, is not curved, it is straight. This will allow you to use an adapter in your golf bag to hold the umbrella and to give the user a better grip. The grips are often made from rubber for that superior hold especially if it is windy.

Introducing Wool Mittens
Written by Alexander Stone on January 18, 2010 – 12:19 pm -The clothing accessory that is used to cover the hands is what we call gloves. Gloves are of different kinds, some have sheaths for individual fingers including the thumb and some have a single sheath for the fingers and one for the thumb. Mittens generally only have one opening including the thumb and cover the hand entirely.
Some types of gloves are called hybrid gloves because they will share characteristics of both gloves and mittens. The primary purpose of wearing gloves is of course for protection, either from the cold or when doing certain types of work such as handling dangerous substances or when medical professionals need protection from germs and bacteria.
Gloves are made out of different types of material depending on the job. The most common materials used are, cloth, rubber, neoprene, leather and wool to name a few.
Gloves worn by medical and forensic professionals are usually made out latex and construction laborers tend to use gloves made out of leather or neoprene. No matter what the job is, a glove that is suitable for it is available.

A Closer View at Golf Bags for Women
Written by Harry Johnson on January 8, 2010 – 2:45 pm -Women have taken to golf with renewed vigor these past few years and companies following this trend have taken to making golf products with them in mind. And golf bags for women are a natural follow up to this trend. There are more than a few of these brands in the market.
The design of these golf bags for women is incorporated with the females in mind with lightness of weight and esthetics being key factors. They also come in cart and stand versions to add more choice to interested buyers.
Then there are those that can do both in that they can be pulled cart style and carried. But the over riding consideration is that they are all light of weight when compared to the male versions so that they would give the least stress on their physique.
Golf bags for women are now manufactured in some ‘girly’ colors to appeal to the female segment although not all women would like to have their baby pink everywhere. There are few companies that have come forward with brighter colors that suit the needs of women without restoring back to the pink thing.
