Many low handicap golfers are excellent at chipping around the green to save their par. The main reason chipping is so critical for your high handicap player is that there’s a smaller amount of chance of them getting on the green in two for a par-4, thus they will be faced with lots of chip shots.
Hence, it could be recommended to rehearse more your chip shots to be able to try to save several shots each round. If you are not an effective chipper of the golf ball, you will probably leave your ball short or go well beyond the pin which will leave you with the possibility of three putting to get a double bogey. At best you can take two putts although it will still leave you with a bogey. Zippo Lighters and Cigars
Written by Brian Mallikarjunan on March 7, 2010 – 10:56 am -Lighting a cigar is equal parts art and science. For many smokers, it is the opening act in the smoking ritual and, in many ways, one of the most enjoyable. Zippo lighters are regarded by some as a poor way to light a cigar owing to the lighter fluid imparting a chemical taste to the tobacco. Other smokers claim that this is simply not true and wouldn’t use anything else to light their stogie. The individual should always feel free to make this determination for themselves.
A Zippo lighter has, for a long time, been known to outdoor enthusiasts as one of the most reliable tools to bring into the wilds. Zippo has advertised for many years the reliability of their lighters and, born out of the trenches of World War 1, they have certainly proven themselves in that regard! Some smokers claim, however, that they lend the taste of lighter fluid to a cigar and ruin the smoke. Most often, this stems from using cheap lighter fluid and can be remedied by upgrading to any one of the many flavor-free lighter fluids available on the market.

Vacation Planning for Pros
Written by Greg Hansward on March 6, 2010 – 1:21 pm -While everyone likes to go on vacation, nobody really likes the “grunt work” of making reservations. Luckily, the internet has removed a lot of the hassle in travel planning. Here are some tips to make your plans go smoothly.
Use your search engine and type in your destination or the type of trip you want, such as a cruise. Sort through all the information and choose which locations best suit your tastes and your budget. This will of course take some time so be sure to start doing this well before your departure date. For example, if you want to play golf in La Manga, Spain, you may not have the funds or the time to get there.
Once you have a destination in mind, you have a choice: You can either make all the reservations yourself or you can work through a travel agency or a travel website, such as Expedia.com or Travelocity.com. Doing the work yourself gives you some independence in your choices and you may find some great deals. However, you may find it quicker to work through an agent or a website.

The Benefits of Using a Golf Cart
Written by John Sommer on March 6, 2010 – 10:43 am -There are lots of benefits to choosing to use a golf cart instead of walking between holes on the court. Of course, using one without irritating other golfers can be tricky. Let’s take a look at some of the advantages of choosing to use a cart, and how to do it politely.
The most obvious advantage of using a cart is that you won’t have to walk. Courses can be very large, and walkers who have to carry their golf bags will soon become tired, even if they’re in good shape. A golf cart prevents this. In addition, you can carry more with you if you choose to use a cart.
A cart will also shield you from bad weather. For example, if it’s sweltering hot, you’ll soon become fatigued and overheated if you walk the course. But if you take a cart along with plenty of water to beat the heat, you’ll be able to keep cool in the shade. Driving a golf cart can help protect you from overheating in the summer, and can keep you from getting drenched in spring and fall rains.

Smoking a Cigar Halfway: Smart or Wasteful?
Written by Brian Mallikarjunan on March 5, 2010 – 11:35 am -When people debate the question of whether or not a cigar should be smoked fully or just halfway, they’re really debating whether or not there is something inherently bad about a half-smoked cigar. Whether or not a cigar is bad or good depends upon the tobacco and the wrap, not upon how much of it has been smoked.
Is this true or not? The question is bandied about an awful lot, perhaps more than is truly merited. It’s more of an academic question, really. The real answer is, of course, that smokers should smoke however much of their cigar they desire and, if someone objects, that person can smoke their own cigars halfway if they so choose. There are various reasons why this debate endures.
The taste of the cigar changes because tar builds up in the tobacco as one puffs through it. This is unavoidable. It’s not that the tobacco is any different from one end of the cigar to the other, it’s simply that the byproducts of combustion inevitably build up and affect the flavor. Many individuals find this change in taste quite enjoyable and, as one gets more used to the flavor of the cigar, one also gets more “bite” off of each puff which makes it enjoyable from start to finish.
