Where Does David Beckham Stand?
Written by Tony Garrison on September 1, 2010 – 10:38 am -Fabio Capello made the announcement that David Beckham’s international career has come to an end, but he wants David to get one last run in before it’s over. David Beckham has been playing for the England National Soccer Team for more than 10 years. He’s not only been a great player on the pitch, but he’s been an icon for the team.
David Beckham is currently the leader in all time caps for England’s National Team. He’s made 115 appearances for the squad throughout his years. He missed this previous World Cup in South Africa as a player because of an injury, but they still brought him along because of his influence on the current players.
As Beckham gets back to full health, it doesn’t seem like England will need Beckham to qualify for the European Championships in 2012. However, Capello is doing the right thing by giving him a chance to player another international game. The fans will love it!
Capello told the public that he would be bringing Beckham to play, so he can say goodbye. He’s hoping that Beckham can do this at Wembley as it’s the perfect place to say goodbye. Capello also made it very clear that he won’t be using Beckham in any competitive games.

Football Tricks – Showing Off Your Skills
Written by Thanh Tran on August 31, 2010 – 9:24 am -If you’re a football coach or just goofing off with friends, most folks like to impress their peers with their athletic prowess. Even more than showing off your skills, sportsmen like to demonstrate neat football tricks they have picked up over the years. Believe it or not, most tricks have nothing at all to do with the sport itself. Throwing an additional long pass is cool and evading 10 linebackers is impressive, but most tricks have more to do with style and skill than anything else. Some people like to showcase a cool new touchdown dance they created, while others can run down the field in a split second. Learning an impressive trick should play up on you assets while avoiding your shortcomings.
Finding good football tricks may be learned, taught and self created. Looking at other players during practice is a good start, but you might often learn some things from reviewing footage. If you may, look at highlight clips that you are featured in and take notes of what you see that you are good at. This will be crucial for learning what you could do well so that you could possibly improve even more.

Buy Adidas MiCoach, Fitness App Comes Free
Written by Tom Doerr on August 29, 2010 – 9:49 am -Adidas have recently released a series of ‘miCoach’ gadgets that monitor heart rate, distance and speed when running. Unlike usual heart rate monitors, the data is not output on a watch; instead they pair with software downloadable for all smartphones.
The miCoach gadgets separate themselves from the popular Nike+ pedometer by not pairing exclusively with Apple technology, although the software for the iPhone is likely to be the most popular. The devices will also pair with an array of mp3 players and hardware.
Although the app is designed to pair with the accessories, it is free to download from app stores and the website; this will most likely prove popular as it incorporates GPS enabled smartphones to allow fitness training without purchasing the hardware.
Although the software can be used alone, the addition of heart rate and footfall are much more effective in performance analysis, meaning an incentive to buy the full price gear.
The software in the app analyses data from the GPS, heart rate and footfall to determine how effective your training is, it will provide on the go feedback from a pre-recorded voice that can instruct you to pick up the pace, relax a little and will direct you through a predetermined, personalised training schedule.

Vidic Confirms He Will Stick With Manchester United
Written by Tom Doerr on August 27, 2010 – 9:50 am -Manchester United defender and Serbian Captain Nemanja Vidic has dismissed rumours that he intends on leaving the club. He has been repeatedly linked to big money moves abroad to Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan.
The 28 year old says there was never any question about his future at Manchester United despite Jose Mourinho’s efforts to coax him to Real Madrid. Before the world cup a representative had said Vidic had “requested some time from United to think about things”, while Sir Alex Ferguson said he could not clarify the situation.
But shortly after, the club’s chief executive David Gill revealed that he had a verbal agreement with Vidic for a long-term contract to remain at Old Trafford. The international claims he always wanted to stay at the club, “I don’t know why people think it was a difficult decision,” he said. “I always said I am happy here. I never spoke about my future. I know there was all this speculation but I never said I wanted to go. There was nothing new. I am very happy to be here.”
The 90,000-a-week contract will make him one of the highest paid players on the squad and the extension takes his deal up to a massive 18.72m.

Discover The Fundamentals Of The Game Of Soccer
Written by Shirley Merritt on August 22, 2010 – 5:19 am -Professionals, college, and high school play soccer with two 45 minute halves. The rules of soccer is simple, two teams that consist of nine players and a goalie. The players are only allowed to play the soccer ball with their feet, and they are divided into offense and defense. Kicking the ball into the opposing team’s goal is the game’s main objective. Therefore, the only one allowed to use their hands as well as their feet are the goalies.
Juggling is often practiced by soccer players, and this is a skill that consists of keeping the ball in the air using the feet, knees, head, chest, or thighs. Unless you want the other team to take possession of the ball, don’t use your hands or arm. The opposing team takes possession of the ball by doing a “throw-in” when the other team knocks the ball out of bounds, and during this time both feet should stay on the ground while the player throws the ball back into play. A “corner kick” is the result of when a soccer ball is kicked out of bounds over the line of their own goal, and the opposite team takes the ball to the corresponding corner and kicks the ball back to the team. For a “goal kick” which is the result of the team kicking the ball over the opposing team’s goal line, it is to be taken by a defensive player of the team.
