Written by Thomas Weeks on June 27, 2010 – 3:11 am -

A successful soccer team needs a coach who does not only know the basics of soccer, but also acquires the right characteristics of educating his team. He must develop these first because a soccer team needs more than just physical and technical learning, but rather more than those.

I’ll be sharing to you the 10 characteristics of an effective soccer coach.

1. Good Role Model

An effective soccer coach is an effective role model. You must carry a good character that is worth imitating to your soccer team because it will be shameful if you are teaching them positive attitudes but you are not applying them to yourself. You must bear this in mind.

2. Respectable Appearance

To add up to your professional soccer coach look, you must consider your appearance as well. Your personality reflects on the way you carry your appearance when you train your soccer team. Don not forget that you must be someone worth imitating. An admirable look could gain trust and respect.

3. Be Punctual

An effective soccer coach is punctual in the training sessions. Be professional when it comes to time matters. It will be a shame if you keep your soccer team waiting for you. Being early will also help you not to waste time and prepare the training set-up.

Soccer Coaching Where Do I Start?

Written by admin on October 31, 2009 – 9:34 am -

Soccer has been the sports lifeline of many countries including the United States. The love of the game is so intrinsic that parents provide soccer equipment and soccer gear to their kids at a very tender age. Guided by such soccer parents, some children are given a soccer ball as soon as they learn to walk, some even earlier. In some cases, this is the first exposure kids have to the game of soccer.

However, for the right grooming to play professional soccer, it is imperative that soccer coaching be provided at a young age. A youngster with the right soccer training can be groomed to be a quality player and more importantly a better student of the game. It is all about learning the tactics of the game where you learn not only the skills of how to make a great pass, score an incredible goal, dribble by someone with ease; but also to develop strategies to win which is the ultimate aim.

Soccer enthusiasts however, stress on that aspect of soccer coaching, that the ultimate goal of the players in the learning period is not to focus on match results but to work towards creating a level of confidence and comfort with the ball. It is imperative that a youth soccer player loves the game and works on improving skills with regular soccer drills.

Start A Career In Soccer Coaching

The most popular sport in the world is soccer (or football to the rest of the world). All year-round, soccer is being played in all parts of the world and it culminates every four years in a spectacular event known as the World Cup. Soccer is a serious business especially in Europe and South America, where soccer players are revered and treated as gods. These players are getting millions out of their contracts and various product endorsements. It is no wonder that more and more kids are striving to become soccer players. What not many people realize is that these players accomplished as much as they did because of excellent training and soccer coaching. With that said, soccer coaches and trainers are the real heroes because they are the ones who take the chance at transforming mediocre players into skilled soccer superstars. They work in the shadows and shun the limelight. Of course, there are those that hog the headlines either because of a scandal or a spectacular display of coaching prowess; but in general, soccer coaches cannot be bothered with their celebrity status.
