The Most Substantial Occurrences During The Indy and New Orleans Super Bowl

Written by Daniel Greenbeck on March 13, 2010 – 12:31 pm -

This year’s Super Bowl was definitely one that kept all the fans of the game watching it and getting so much out of it, just like the last two Super Bowl games were. That is so refreshing when you think about the games that took place in prior years before these three and how they were just disappointing to the fans.

Now, the Indianapolis Colts were heavily favored to come away with the victory at the Super Bowl, but, much to everyone’s surprise, the New Orleans Saints won instead. This was largely due to the fantastic way that Drew Brees and the rest of the Saint’s offense performed in the game; however, their defense did equally as well when dealing with the Colt’s quarterback, Peyton Manning.

Let’s take a look at a few of the top stories from Super Bowl XLIV. If you missed out on the game, here are the things you should know about.

He started off a little shaky, but once that passed, Drew Brees had an almost perfect game. He began it by only getting three completions from the first seven attempts, but then he went on to complete 29 out of the next 32 attempts. He finished the game with an impressive total of 32 completions out of 39 attempts with 288 yards, no turnovers and 2 touchdown passes.

You Must Know the Maldives has the Snorkeling in the World?

Written by Rudy Damascus on March 13, 2010 – 12:11 pm -

The Maldives is an small island nation consisting of over a 1,100 tiny coral islands strewn across the Indian Ocean. It’s a snorkeling and scuba diving heaven and one that’s popular all year round primarily due to its temperate climate. The Maldives averages thirty degrees Celsius all year long or 86 degrees F.

Simply put, the Maldives provide an ideal snorkeling and scuba diving location teeming with exotic schools of fish of many species. Just to name a few, there are black and white snappers, humpback snappers, barracuda, unicornfish, yellowback fusiliers, trevally jacks.

Maldives snorkeling and diving is unparalleled the world over. The sheer number and types of fish found here is awe inspiring. Divers and snorkelers will never experience a boring moment, nor will they ever experience the exact dive experience twice! There are too many species of aquatic life to discover on any single dive; one really needs to go several times to get an appreciation of the awe inspiring life residing in these waters.

Seasoned snorkelers and scuba divers suggest traveling to the Maldives when water visibility is at its peak; between January and March. Other times of the year, water visibility can be murky. Dive novices charter boats in Male, the capital city. However, experienced divers preferring remote locations can charter boats to take them to the outer reaches where its less inhabited.

Where To Find Skis For Sale

Written by Mark Raines on March 12, 2010 – 4:05 pm -

If you’re a skier but you can’t afford or don’t need brand new top of the line equipment, check out some pre-owned skis. There are many ways to find skis for sale.

Children are really the best bet when it comes to getting used skis. Kids grow out of everything way too fast, and they grow out of expensive skis just as fast as cheap sneakers. Getting brand news skis for your kids can usually turn into a waste of money. A set of good skis can easily run through an entire family or even a neighborhood before showing any signs of wear.

Finding used skis is easy. Look online at free classified sites. Most have special sections just for sporting goods or even skis alone. You can usually search by location, price, manufacturer, size, or whatever is important. You’d be surprised at how many options you’ll find within a few miles of your home.

Many of these skis have been purchased at high end ski and resort specialty stores, and still others were bought at your average mall sports retailer. Prices for the used skis will reflect partly on what their original prices were. And of course their condition will play a large part in what you would be expected pay as well.

Dealing With Down Slopes on a Golf Course

Written by Mick Euan Tait on March 12, 2010 – 2:59 pm -

Where I lived in the south of Scotland, I would sometimes play golf at a course which was on the side of a large hill. Apart from a few holes, most of them were either perpendicular uphill or downhill. It had been these holes with downward slopes that gave me the most difficulty.

For all those of you that have played a golf course like that, you almost definitely know how problematic hitting from a downhill lie can be. This is principally challenging for weekend golfers, that have little practice hitting from this kind of lie. Hitting off a downhill slope is largely a matter of making the appropriate adjustments. Here are a few adjustments which will enable you to play from a downward slope.

Consideration for the Downhill Slope Shot

In essence, you must position the golf ball back in your position, swing using the slope, and chase the golf ball down the slope. There are 2 things to keep in mind when confronted with a downward lie; a shot from a down slope has a tendency to fade right plus the slope will influence your club choice. Even though you hit the ball cleanly, it’ll tend to fade right, so learn to deal with it by aiming a little left of the target.

Will The Ravens Make It To The Big Game?

Written by Matt Ryan on March 12, 2010 – 2:40 pm -

The Baltimore Ravens are, what many sports enthusiasts would call, infants in the NFL. The originated in Cleveland, and after much debate, Art Modell finally got his wish of moving them to Baltimore. They did not have their own stadium, at first, so they plated in Memorial Stadium, home of the Colts. It only took two years for their stadium to be ready; although, the name of the stadium changed numerous times over the next ten years (it took some time for the team to settle in).

After they moved to their new stadium, the Ravens did not overly improve their game, not even with coach Marchibroda. Their first season ended at a 6-10 record, nothing overly impressive. After only two years, in their new stadium, the head coached was replaced with Billick. Billick’s first season, with the Ravens proved to be a difficult one. Once the team got over the hump of having a new coach, and a few rough years behind them, they ended their ‘99 season with a 8-8 record; the best they’d seen yet.

The Chicago Bears – A Hopeful 2010 Season

Written by Matt Ryan on March 11, 2010 – 4:20 pm -

The Chicago Bears, beloved NFL franchise since 1919, have had many glorious years, with many more to come. This is one of those old-time teams that has a place in the hearts of thousands; a team full of passion and fight, a team that does what it takes to get to the end. Two short years after they were founded, the Bears began their rivalry with the Green Bay Packers, one thing fans can count on year in and year out. One year after this rivalry began, the Bears took their current colors, and have kept them ever since. That is one of the great things about this team, besides their talent, the fact that they are stable and are not going anywhere anytime soon.

Wrigley Field, another popular field to Chicagoans, was used as the Bears’ stomping grounds in the old days, mostly for scrimmage games. The team, obviously, needed a stadium they could call home, which they had not too long after they were a team, a stadium we all know as Soldier Field. Over the years the stadium has taken a lot of abuse, and required quite a bit of remodeling. The entire stadium was pretty much tore down and rebuilt by 2003, leaving only one wall from the original stadium. The new stadium was so different and new, in fact, that it was even renamed the Soldier Field II.

What You Need To Know Before Buying A Heart Rate Monitor

Written by Chris Station on March 11, 2010 – 2:28 pm -

In the past, heart rate monitors were used almost exclusively by medical facilities to monitor a patient’s heart rate. But in today’s world, the role of the heart rate monitor has changed. Many ordinary people use monitors to keep track of their heart rates. Of course athletes rely on the information that their monitor provides to ensure that they are performing at their peak.

So what exactly is a heart rate monitor? Basically it is a piece of electronic equipment also known as a cardiac monitor. Its purpose is to observe and keep track of heart functions on a continuous basis.

Heart rate monitors serve an important purpose when used for medical reasons. Because patients wear monitors for a specific period of time as recommended by their doctor, they provide valuable information to medical personnel. By comparing data, doctors can change treatment plans if the data indicates a problem.

Heart rate monitors are no longer limited to medical uses. You can get a heart monitor for many different sports or activities. Each monitor has features specific to what it is being used for.
