Make The Learning Process Less Of A Burden For Your Children

Written by Natalie Carter on September 3, 2010 – 10:54 am -

Technology has changed many aspects of human life; even education is being affected. Whereas there used to be a time when the only way you could attain help for your child was to go someplace and get them to tutored, now they can be tutored at home from your computer screen.

Some parents may not like the idea that their kid will not have hands-on help with their studies. But online tutoring is very similar to one-on-one and in person tutoring, so you are effectively receiving all the benefits of both with none of the cons.

Online, the student is separated from the tutor by miles and a screen. Tutoring software creates a simulated environment that is best suited for the learning process.

When compared to the conventional style of private tutoring, online tutoring offers many advantages over the traditional method.

Not having to leave your home saves you gas and a lot of hassle. Parents might not have the time to physically transport their kid to the home of the tutor, and private tutors that make house calls are always more expensive. Online tutoring allows students to receive instruction on the computer and eliminates the need to go anywhere.

Where Does David Beckham Stand?

Written by Tony Garrison on September 1, 2010 – 10:38 am -

Fabio Capello made the announcement that David Beckham’s international career has come to an end, but he wants David to get one last run in before it’s over. David Beckham has been playing for the England National Soccer Team for more than 10 years. He’s not only been a great player on the pitch, but he’s been an icon for the team.

David Beckham is currently the leader in all time caps for England’s National Team. He’s made 115 appearances for the squad throughout his years. He missed this previous World Cup in South Africa as a player because of an injury, but they still brought him along because of his influence on the current players.

As Beckham gets back to full health, it doesn’t seem like England will need Beckham to qualify for the European Championships in 2012. However, Capello is doing the right thing by giving him a chance to player another international game. The fans will love it!

Capello told the public that he would be bringing Beckham to play, so he can say goodbye. He’s hoping that Beckham can do this at Wembley as it’s the perfect place to say goodbye. Capello also made it very clear that he won’t be using Beckham in any competitive games.

Guidelines To Begin Life Independently

Written by Linda Hubert on August 25, 2010 – 9:28 am -

So it’s time to start living on your own, this can be quite the financial surprise to many. One suggestion to help cut down on the living costs is to get some roommate. Perhaps some friends or some classmates you may know. However, while everyone may get along great there is still the chance that these potential roommates are not clean when it comes to housekeeping.

One of the first things to be established at your new place is hygiene. Hopefully this will be a simple ground rule to lay out that everyone can agree on. Also, be sure to lay out what is acceptable when it comes to cleanliness.

For example, each roommates mess should be restricted to their own room or area. As for the kitchen, bathroom, and other shared areas, there should be a time limit for cleaning your own messes.

This is an important rule, especially when it comes to raw foods or a messy toilet. One good way to make sure it will get done without spoiling a friendship is to make a chore list and schedule.

Kids Who Lied Should Be Corrected Depending On Their Age And Reason They Lied

Written by Rebecca Woods on August 24, 2010 – 9:53 am -

Parenting is a tough job and it becomes even tougher when your children start lying. You might have nightmares about how to deal with lying children and require an answer that can solve your problems magically. But, dealing with lying children is not that easy. Every lying child will have to be dealt with differently depending on their age and cause of lying.

Sometimes kids, especially the younger ones will lie just because they don’t fully understand what they are doing. Since they don’t yet have the ability to reason like adults, a lie to a little one may be an innocent thing they do.

Older children lie to cover things up that they don’t want you to know about. This can be simply to test boundaries, or it can also mean that they are getting involved in things that they know you won’t approve of. This is when you really need to know the context so that you can deal with the underlying situation as well as the lie itself.

Feeling Nervous On A First Date Is Normal, But You Can Do Some Things To Impress Your Date

Written by Ralph Waltz on August 20, 2010 – 10:16 am -

People probably worry about how they act on a first date more than they will worry about anything else. It is something that nearly every one is self conscious about.

Getting anxious about how to act when you go out with someone in the beginning is not only normal, it is something that affects people of all ages and stages in life. This is all part of the process, and you are not alone in feeling a little out of sorts.

This article will help to lead you into different things that you can think about to have a great date. Right off the bat, you should take what you know about the other person and plan the date around their likes and tastes. That means if they like going for walks and having coffee, then make sure the date includes some of those elements. This way you will have something that is fun for both of you while reducing the level of discomfort.

Picking the best place to meet up for the date is also important. Maybe they are not comfortable with you picking them up right away, so having a designated spot where you can get together may help the process a lot.

Should We Let Shoeless Joe Into Cooperstown?

Written by Andy Starr on August 15, 2010 – 6:37 am -

Should they lift his ban even after his death? If so will they let him into the hall of fame? So many questions surround this possibly misunderstood baseball legend. Shoeless Joe got his name from what is believed to a blister on his feet from a new pair of cleats. So he took them off and played in his socks throughout the ball game, resulting in Shoeless Joe Jackson. A man who just wanted to play the game of baseball and was banned from it.

Shoeless Joe has some very impressive stats over his- year career. He is known for playing with the White Sox, but played with a total of 3 other teams, having played with ith the Athletics, Naps, and Indians for half a season. He posted very good standard stats that should alone be hall of fame worthy.

Some of these numbers include a .356 career batting average, 785 RBIs, and 168 career triples. The power was low, but this came in an era where lower home run totals were more commonplace.

Well maybe not H.O.F. worthy from looking at those right away, but he seemingly hit for average. Now I’ll post his advanced numbers, which are pretty impressive.

Parenting Reminders To Save Their Kids From Joining Gangs

Written by Venice Johnston on August 12, 2010 – 3:45 pm -

Raising a family today often means that both parents have to find work to provide properly for their needs. But with both parents out at work it can sometimes leave the children lonely and neglected.

Recent studies have shown that this is one of the main reasons why children are tempted to join gangs.

Many children find themselves being picked on or even bullied at school because they are not self confident enough. This then makes joining the supposed safety of a gang a much more attractive proposition to them.

For some reason these kids believe that being part of a gang will keep them safe and looked after. The thing that they do not realize is that it can often put them in more serious danger if gang rivalries start. It can also put their families at risk from reprisals too.

Of course this was never their intention to have their families put at risk. Gang warfare was not something that they envisaged when joining the gang.

Joining these gangs was just their way of trying to make life better for themselves. Instead it makes it much worse and they are more likely to become one of the 60% of homicide victims that studies say are accredited to gang violence.

Tips To Enhance Your Playing Tennis

Written by Irvine Taylor on August 8, 2010 – 1:43 pm -

If tennis is your game you’ll have to work hard to play your best. As with any sport, it requires a great deal of commitment and dedication. You have to practice as much as possible to be successful.

The first thing you need to do is find a decent court where you can play regularly. The surface and nets should be well-maintained. Look for storage areas where you can store personal items.

Stretch before every practice and game. Use about 15 to warm up and stretch your muscles so that you are ready to play. This will help you to avoid muscle cramping while you’re playing and soreness afterward.

Plan your workout clothes carefully. You want to look good but you also should be comfortable. If you are comfortable you will be able to focus on your playing and not what you are wearing. Don’t be distracted unnecessarily by your clothing.

When you start practicing you need to find a partner. Start by volleying at the net. Keep it nice and easy at first. As you begin to get warm you can increase the difficulty of your shots. This helps improve your reaction time.
