Washington State, Black Diamond Coal Mines. Black Diamond is one of the coolest places in the American West and my favorite place in the Northwest. The Pacific Northwest is an incredible ecosystem in its own and riding the trails through Ravensdale Creek and Lake Sawyer is an incredible way to experience it. Outdoor vacations rule in the Northwest and if you are looking to take your bike you have to go to the coal mines.

Hagg Lake, Oregon. We haven’t been back to Hagg Lake in a few years and I miss it. When you arrive you might think you accidentally ended up on a movie set, the beauty is amazing. The fifteen mile trail will give you a bit of a workout but isnt so tough that you won’t be able to enjoy yourself at night. It is too hard for most kids and that is why we haven’t been in a few years. We will definitely get back when the boys grow up a little bit.  Read more...
